UZI design was initially established in 2000 as a product design partnership supplying a range of interior accessory products to high-end retail outlets such as The Conran Shop and John Lewis plc (the UZI desk fan being one of the most recognisible during this period)

The company has since evolved and is now privately owned by the proprietor Mat Brown (also a visiting 3D / product design lecturer) who works as a design consultant under the same trading name ‘UZI design’

In addition to the ‘UZI’ range of interior accessory products - now sold exclusively through this website, the business primarily operates as a design consultancy, offering clients professional expertise and a range of design services throughout key phases of the design process

Projects undertaken have included assisting private clients with initial design concepts for new business ventures, product design conception for established retail brands, design/make commissions for corporate clients and more recently collaborative bespoke projects with architects and interior designers for commercial and private residential properties

UZI design has developed a comprehensive knowledge of designing within a diverse range of market sectors, together with an excellent knowledge of working with many different materials, processes and production volumes, all of which can be tailored towards a specific clients’ project brief and associated budget
